About Kara

At a young age, I established a personal connection with photography since my father had a Pentax 35mm film camera constantly by his side and an artist mother who trained me to have a keen eye.

I prefer to photograph with film, as it forces me to slow down and really think about what I am about to capture and how I want to go about doing so. There is also nothing like the texture of a film photograph that digital simply can’t achieve.

I am currently based in northern Wisconsin but have bases in the Twin Cities and London, UK. I am also a film director and actor: www.karahakanson.com
